Advanced protective construction technologies
With the increasing threat of armed conflicts and terrorist activities, protective construction has become a key component of defense strategies. Recent experiences, including the war in Ukraine, highlight the urgent need to provide safe shelters for civilians and protect strategic facilities. As an NGO, SIBO focuses on education, promotion, and implementation of modern protective construction solutions.
Innovative solutions for the public and private sectors
During the fair from February 11-14, 2025, experts from SIBO and partner companies will present:
- Modular shelter systems – quickly deployable, ensuring maximum protection,
- Security systems – specialized protective doors and gates, next-generation explosion-proof valves,
- Filtration and ventilation devices – providing protection against chemical and biological contamination,
- Shelters and temporary protection spaces – adapted to modern threats.
Strategic partnerships and the future of protective construction
- SIBO's mission is to promote modern protective construction solutions that comply with contemporary technical knowledge. The BUDMA fair is an excellent opportunity to showcase state-of-the-art design solutions and establish key partnerships with businesses, including developers, public institutions, and the private sector, says Eng. Franciszek Wołoch, vice president of SIBO.
- The security challenges of today present an opportunity to enhance capabilities in civil protection and defense. The joint goal of MILBUD and SIBO is to demonstrate that modernizing existing collective civil protection facilities (temporary shelters, hideouts, and bunkers) is a great investment in safety with a high return on investment. A municipality with modern protective infrastructure is an attractive partner for new investors and entrepreneurs, summarizes Marcin Rudnicki, CEO of MILBUD Sp. z o.o.
New standards in protective construction
SIBO actively supports the development of technical standards for protective construction. During the 4th Scientific and Technical Conference on "Fire Safety in Buildings," SIBO experts will present guidelines for temporary protection spaces (MDS), which will become mandatory as of January 1, 2026.
- It is important to emphasize that the issue of designing temporary protection spaces is urgent and requires immediate legislative action. The obligation to implement MDSs will apply to the majority of newly constructed buildings. Wanting to actively participate in the legislative process, we have prepared a series of proposals to ensure that MDSs provide real protection for civilians while minimizing additional costs and utilizing technologies available in general construction, adds Franciszek Wołoch.
The participation of SIBO and its partners at BUDMA 2025 is not only a presentation of innovative solutions but also an opportunity to establish strategic partnerships and exchange experiences between the public and private sectors. Association experts will be available at the booth to discuss the details of their offerings and tailor solutions to individual investor needs.
