Darłowo-based W-3WARM crew engaged in night SAR operation

On the night of 17/18 August, a standby crew of a W-3WARM Anakonda helicopter from the 44th Naval Air Base in Darłowo was tasked with a search and rescue mission over wooded terrain near the village of Łętowo, West Pomerania. The operation was carried out in cooperation with the Police, State Fire Service, and the Darłowo Volunteer Water Rescue Service (BSR).

The aerial search lasted approximately two hours, after which the helicopter returned to its home base in Darłowo and restored operational readiness. At the time of the crew’s withdrawal, the missing elderly person had not yet been located.

This marks the 14th SAR mission conducted by the crews of the Gdynia-based Naval Aviation Brigade in 2025, and the 820th SAR operation in the unit’s history.
