The DELFIN vessels are built under a contract awarded by Poland’s Armament Agency to Saab Kockums AB, acting as the prime contractor. Saab Kockums has entrusted Remontowa Shipbuilding with the hull construction, ensuring technology transfer and support in integrating advanced onboard electronic reconnaissance systems.
The new ship, named ORP Henryk Zygalski in honor of the renowned Polish mathematician and cryptologist instrumental in breaking the German Enigma code in the 1930s, marks a key milestone following plate laying in November 2023 and keel laying in January 2024.
Before entering service, ORP Henryk Zygalski will be equipped with full electronic reconnaissance suites and undergo sea trials. With Saab Kockums’ involvement, the vessel will provide the Polish Navy with a modern, fully capable electronic intelligence platform.
