First on scene were lifeguards from the Volunteer Water Rescue Service (Gniewińskie WOPR), who efficiently extracted the casualty from the water and initiated first aid procedures. Shortly thereafter, a rapid response team from the Brzegowa Stacja Ratownicza Łeba (BSR Łeba) — a coastal station of the Polish Maritime Search and Rescue Service (SAR) — arrived at the site using a UTV equipped with medical gear.
Emergency medical efforts were conducted jointly by BSR Łeba personnel, WOPR lifeguards, and units from the State Fire Service (Państwowa Straż Pożarna, PSP). Once stabilized, the casualty was secured on a spinal board and transported via a fire service quad trailer to a designated evacuation point at the Hotel Neptun car park, where she was handed over to a waiting ambulance crew.
Thanks to the seamless coordination and professionalism of all involved services, the operation was executed effectively and without delay.
Authorities urge caution during recreational activities in coastal areas, especially during large-scale public events where heightened emotions may distract from water safety. Ensuring the wellbeing of participants and spectators remains the top priority.
The incident demonstrated exemplary inter-agency cooperation between SAR coastal personnel, volunteer lifeguards, and fire and rescue teams, whose swift actions contributed to a positive outcome.
