This new order will enable the US Marine Corps to continue implementing Saab's deployable and expeditionary training systems. MCTIS is an advanced, interoperable live training solution that allows Marines to train in realistic combat environments, significantly enhancing their performance and survivability on the battlefield.
The system focuses on refining tactics, techniques, and procedures while supporting joint training with NATO allies during multinational exercises. MCTIS ensures realistic scenario replication combined with detailed analysis of decisions and actions, leading to improved combat readiness.
- We are honored that the United States Marine Corps continues to trust us as their training partner for the next generation of Marines, said Erik Smith, President and CEO of Saab in the U.S. - Our training solutions enhance combat readiness by immersing Marines in realistic scenarios and thoroughly analyzing their decision-making, ultimately contributing to saving American lives. We are proud to deliver the world’s leading interoperable, land-based live training capability.”
Saab’s collaboration with the US Marine Corps began with an initial contract awarded in June 2021, marking the transition from the previous Instrumentation and Tactical Engagement Simulation System II (ITESS-II) to the cutting-edge MCTIS solution. This follow-up order reinforces Saab’s strong position in the U.S. defense market and highlights the company’s key role in modernizing the training of American armed forces.
