Poland and the USA strengthen their alliance - key talks on security and the war in Ukraine

A crucial meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw between Polish President Andrzej Duda and the U.S. President’s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, General Keith Kellogg. Strengthening security in Europe

During an official statement, President Andrzej Duda emphasized the importance of American engagement in the security of Central and Eastern Europe. He conveyed Poland’s stance on Russian aggression, stressing the growing need for a decisive response to Moscow’s provocations.

In recent days, the Polish president also held talks with U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and the meeting with General Kellogg provided a complete picture of U.S. actions in the region. Andrzej Duda highlighted that the United States is demonstrating determination in seeking to end the conflict in Ukraine. “I know President Donald Trump, and I am aware that his actions are resolute and effective,” he emphasized.

Strategy for ending the conflict

President Duda expressed hope for a breakthrough in discussions regarding ceasing hostilities and achieving a just peace. In his view, Russia cannot be allowed to claim victory, as this would have far-reaching consequences for international stability. The key issue remains establishing terms of an agreement that will not set a precedent of accepting aggression against a sovereign state.

Regarding the long-term U.S. military presence in Europe, the Polish president firmly assured that there are no signs of reduced American commitment. On the contrary, Poland can expect a further strengthening of the U.S. military presence. “We are a reliable ally for the United States, and today we hold a strong position in transatlantic relations,” he stated.

Future actions

In response to the evolving regional situation, President Andrzej Duda announced a National Security Council meeting next Monday to discuss Poland’s challenges and strategic direction for the coming months.

It is worth noting that General Keith Kellogg’s meeting with President Duda was the only one he held with a head of state in Europe. This underscores Poland’s unique role in shaping security policy in this part of the world and highlights the importance of transatlantic cooperation amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
