PGZ Naval Shipyard signs contract with OSI Maritime Systems for IBNS delivery to Poland’s rescue vessel Ratownik

PGZ Stocznia Wojenna (PGZ Naval Shipyard) has signed a contract in Canada with OSI Maritime Systems for the delivery of the Integrated Bridge & Navigation System (IBNS) for the Polish Navy’s new rescue vessel Ratownik. The agreement marks another step in the long-term technological partnership between the two companies.

IBNS, a variant of the advanced Integrated Navigation & Tactical System (INTS) widely deployed across NATO fleets, will serve as the core navigation and command-support solution aboard Ratownik. The system will enable effective execution of traditional SAR missions as well as expanded operational roles, including subsea infrastructure protection and cooperation with unmanned maritime platforms.

This is the fourth joint project between PGZ Naval Shipyard and OSI Maritime Systems. The Canadian company previously supplied navigation systems for the Miecznik frigate programme, the Kormoran II class mine countermeasure vessels and the research ship Arctowski. Their cooperation is based on a Long-Term Partnership Agreement, covering specialist training for PGZ engineers and the continued development of the Navigation Laboratory and Mission Systems Integration Centre in Gdynia.

- IBNS is a proven and mature solution that fully meets the operational requirements of Ratownik. Our teams have developed an efficient, well-coordinated workflow, which is essential when working on critical maritime infrastructure projects, said Marcin Ryngwelski, president of PGZ Naval Shipyard.

The 96-metre, 6,500-tonne Ratownik will replace the ageing rescue assets of the Polish Navy. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2029, with the vessel intended for both national missions and NATO operations.
