A new study by Infinix: 80% of Polish smartphone users want a fast-charging feature
Although price is the most common deciding factor when choosing a smartphone, 75% of users in Poland believe that a capacious and durable battery is a must-have. This is especially important for people over the age of 50. Battery anxiety, or the stress of a device running out of charge, affects as many as 3 out of 4 smartphone users. Men tend to take a more compromising approach to purchasing phones—most features are important to them but not necessarily essential. Women, on the other hand, consider options like fast Internet (73%), large internal memory (68%), and fast charging (59%) to be indispensable.

For ¾ of Polish smartphone users, a large and durable battery is an essential feature, according to a new study commissioned by Infinix, a smartphone manufacturer known for its fast charging, large and bright screens with high refresh rates, and eye-catching designs. Slightly fewer respondents—70%—consider fast Internet on the device a must-have. Other important features mentioned by Poles include fast performance (65%), ample RAM and internal storage (both 61%), and a large, clear display (55%).
People aged 50 to 65 place the greatest importance on battery capacity and long battery life—80% of them deem it essential, and 13% consider it important. Among those aged 35 to 49, the figures are 77% and 18%, respectively. In the youngest group—18 to 34 years old—68% consider it essential, while 24% find it important.
Of course, the most critical criterion for choosing a smartphone for the largest percentage of Poles (41%) remains price. Battery performance ranks second (33%), and camera quality comes in third (30%). Other considerations include overall quality (22%), memory (19%), and design (17%).
Since battery anxiety—the fear of running out of battery—affects ¾ of smartphone users, 80% of them want a fast-charging option. Nearly half frequently turn off location services, data transmission, or Bluetooth to save energy, while nearly ⅓ often avoid using their smartphone outside the home if they know they won’t be able to charge it. Just over ¼ always carry a power bank with them.
- As many as 80% of Polish smartphone users surveyed acknowledge that the fast-charging feature in smartphones is necessary. At Infinix, we have long focused on innovations related to charging and energy management, so that our users can concentrate on their needs instead of worrying about their battery running out. In Infinix smartphones, we have prioritized both energy management features and battery longevity, resulting in devices that not only offer fast wired charging (up to 180W) and wireless charging (up to 20W) but also include bypass charging functions (which reduce phone temperature when in use while charging and help save battery life), reverse charging, multi-protocol charging modes, including smart charging, night charging, and rapid charging when time is short - said Ryszard T. Lindner, who manages the brand in Poland, Hungary, and the Baltic countries.
An example of Infinix innovation, which integrates the above features, is its proprietary All-Round FastCharge technology, continually developed and available in the brand's top-tier Zero 40 5G smartphone, as well as devices from the NOTE series and select models from the new HOT 50 series, which recently hit stores in Poland.
Fast charging and good internet are more important to women
According to the collected data, women and men place different emphasis on various features when choosing a smartphone. While features like large battery capacity, high performance, large and clear displays, and the presence of 5G or NFC are equally important to both genders, the availability of fast charging matters more to women—59% of women consider it essential, compared to 43% of men. A significant difference is also observed in their approach to Internet speed—a key factor for 73% of women and 65% of men—as well as to internal memory capacity (68% of women and 54% of men). Men, on the other hand, appear more willing to compromise, more often labeling various features as important but not necessarily essential.
The Infinix brand has been present in the Polish market for over two years. Its Polish portfolio includes more than 30 smartphone models from the Zero, Note, Hot, and Smart series, covering various price ranges, colors, and memory configurations. To date, it has sold over 250,000 smartphones in Poland.
