Sopot Water Rescue Service (Sopockie WOPR) has officially expanded its operational network through a newly signed cooperation agreement with the Centre for Training and Rescue FORMOZA RIB. This initiative marks a significant step forward in strengthening regional rescue structures, enhancing training efforts, and improving readiness for emergency response in high-traffic coastal zones. The collaboration leverages FORMOZA RIB’s technical and logistical expertise, enabling a more integrated and effective water rescue presence in the area.
Safe Summer by the Sea – A Shared Responsibility
The creation of the Hel Team reflects a broader commitment to ensuring public safety during the peak tourist season. With thousands of visitors flocking to the Polish coast each summer, the demand for rapid and well-coordinated water rescue services is more critical than ever.
Beyond operational coverage, the new unit will also engage in public education and prevention initiatives aimed at promoting safe behavior around water. These efforts are part of a national push to reduce water-related accidents and fatalities through both preparedness and awareness.
The establishment of this unit underscores the importance of inter-organizational cooperation in modern water rescue frameworks. By building strong regional capacities and investing in joint action, Sopot WOPR continues to elevate standards in aquatic safety and emergency response.
