MON, Arka Gdynia and AMW sign letter of intent supporting "Green Industrial District - Kashubia" project
A letter of intent was signed at the Municipal Stadium in Gdynia between Poland’s Ministry of National Defence (MON) and the sports clubs Arka Gdynia and AMW Arka Gdynia. The agreement concerns cooperation on developing recommendations and standards for social engagement within the strategic project "Green Industrial District – Kashubia".

The document marks the launch of a pilot initiative aimed at involving the sports community in social dialogue accompanying major industrial, infrastructure and defence-related investments planned for the Kashubia region.
Participants in the signing ceremony included Maciej Samsonowicz, Advisor to the Minister of National Defence; Rear Admiral Prof. Tomasz Szubrycht, Rector-Commandant of the Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia; Bartłomiej Wołoszyn, President of the Management Board of KKS Gdynia S.A.; Marcin Gruchała, Chairman of the Supervisory Board and majority shareholder of Arka Gdynia; Wojciech Pertkiewicz, President of Arka Gdynia S.A.; and Daniel Lessnau, President of Socios Arka Gdynia.
The "Green Industrial District - Kashubia" initiative focuses on strengthening Poland’s defence capabilities through industrial and infrastructure development, including projects linked to the defence sector. At the same time, the programme places strong emphasis on cooperation with local communities and building social capital in the region.
Sports organisations and fan communities are expected to play a role in this process by supporting communication and social engagement related to the planned investments.
Rear Admiral Prof. Tomasz Szubrycht emphasised that sport has a unique ability to unite local communities and strengthen attachment to the region. According to him, sporting events also provide an effective platform for reaching broad audiences with information about economic investments and security-related initiatives.
The agreement signed in Gdynia is intended as a pilot framework. The recommendations and social engagement standards developed through cooperation with the Arka Gdynia clubs may later be applied to other strategic investment projects carried out under the "Kashubia" programme.
