Artificial intelligence opens new perspectives. Will the maritime industry benefit?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the key directions of modern industry development, including the maritime sector. Automation of logistics processes, optimization of transport routes, environmental data analysis, and AI-based fleet management are just some of the areas where this technology is already revolutionizing the industry. Responding to these changes, the Pomeranian University in Słupsk, in collaboration with the AI Laboratory, is launching a cutting-edge postgraduate program in artificial intelligence. The start date is set for March 2025!

AI in service of the maritime industry
The maritime sector is increasingly adopting artificial intelligence solutions. Intelligent algorithms support the automation of supply chain management, weather monitoring, and predictive maintenance of equipment. Implemented innovations enhance safety at sea, reduce operational costs, and improve the energy efficiency of vessels. Examples of AI implementations can be found in global transport corporations as well as in Polish ports and shipyards.
Studies for everyone – regardless of technical experience
The new postgraduate program is aimed at a broad audience – both professionals already working in the maritime industry and those planning a career in AI-driven sectors. In particular, managers, maritime logistics specialists, data analysts, and engineers dealing with process automation can benefit from the program. Prior technical knowledge is not required – the curriculum is designed to provide participants with a solid foundation in AI and teach them practical applications.
Flexible learning format and practical approach
The courses will be conducted in a hybrid model, with 80% of the content available online, allowing participants to conveniently balance learning with professional commitments. The program includes both theoretical introductions to artificial intelligence and practical applications such as data analysis, process automation, and AI-based project management.
Recruitment and admission conditions
Recruitment for the AI postgraduate program has already begun. Candidates must hold a higher education diploma (bachelor's, master's, or engineering degree). The cost of participation is 7,800 PLN for two semesters, payable in two installments. A registration fee of 200 PLN is required, along with the submission of the necessary documents (CV, diploma, proof of payment). Admission is based on the order of applications.
New career opportunities – future AI professions
Artificial intelligence is becoming a crucial element in the development strategies of modern companies. Completing the AI postgraduate program opens the door to emerging roles in organizations, such as chief AI officer, data analyst, or process automation manager. Especially in the maritime industry, where digitalization is becoming an essential aspect of competitiveness, knowledge of AI can be a key asset in the job market.
The Pomeranian University in Słupsk invites all interested individuals to participate in this unique program, which combines theory with practice and prepares students for the challenges of a digital future in the maritime industry.
