Slipform was the only company from Western Pomerania to take part in a high-level economic mission to Kyiv organised with the participation of Poland’s Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański. The delegation gathered representatives of key Polish companies interested in supporting the reconstruction and modernisation of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
The mission began aboard a special train operating on the Chełm–Kyiv route under the protection of Poland’s State Protection Service. Upon arrival in the Ukrainian capital, participants attended an economic seminar and held meetings with representatives of the Ukrainian government and business community, including Ukraine’s Minister of Economy Oleksii Sobolev.
Energy infrastructure in focus
One of the key topics discussed during the visit was the reconstruction of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, heavily damaged by ongoing Russian attacks. Officials and business representatives highlighted the importance of involving experienced Polish companies in large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects.
- In the face of enormous destruction and continued attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the country urgently needs equipment, components and investments in a modern energy system. I am convinced that Poland and Polish companies can play a crucial role in this transformation, said Minister Andrzej Domański.
The delegation included ten companies representing sectors such as IT, drone technologies, construction, heavy industry and energy. Several participating firms also represented the dual-use technology sector, offering solutions applicable in both civilian and defence-related projects.
Offshore expertise and strategic infrastructure
Slipform specialises in slipform technology used in advanced engineering and energy infrastructure projects. The company is also developing solutions for the construction of towers and foundations for offshore wind farms.
According to company representatives, such structures may additionally serve strategic and security-related purposes, including the installation of radar systems and infrastructure supporting national security operations. This reflects a growing trend within the offshore sector, where energy infrastructure is increasingly integrated with solutions enhancing security across the Baltic Sea region.
- Slipform technology plays an important role in the delivery of modern infrastructure and energy projects. Our experience allows us to execute projects faster, safer and in line with the highest quality standards. We believe Polish know-how can make a real contribution to the reconstruction and modernisation of Ukraine’s infrastructure, said Daniel Kisała, President of the Management Board of Slipform.
Meetings with Ukraine’s defence industry
During the visit, Polish entrepreneurs also met representatives of Ukraine’s defence industry, including organisations regarded as counterparts to Poland’s PGZ defence group. Discussions focused on potential technological cooperation and the involvement of Polish companies in projects related to the protection of critical infrastructure.
The mission was organised by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, which coordinated meetings between Polish businesses and representatives of Ukraine’s administration and industry.
For companies operating in the infrastructure, energy and offshore sectors, participation in such initiatives may open the door to one of Europe’s largest reconstruction and infrastructure modernisation programmes in the coming years.
