He was one of the co-founders of the Gdańsk school of maritime economics research and spent his entire academic career at the Faculty of Economics, University of Gdańsk, where he also held managerial positions, including director of the institute.
His research focused on port operations, maritime transport systems, and their role in the economy. He also worked as an expert for public administration and international institutions, contributing to analyses on maritime policy and port development.
Prof. Misztal leaves behind a significant academic legacy and generations of students and researchers who worked under his guidance.
