Strategic dimension of the project
The project was presented by Maciej Samsonowicz, who highlighted its broader role in the regional security architecture.
- Kaszubia is not just an industrial project - it is a tangible component of building Poland’s strategic resilience within a new security framework for the Baltic Sea region.
The initiative is aligned with emerging concepts of Baltic regional cooperation and the development of a wider economic and military macroregion, with Poland positioned as a central hub.
Industry, academia and state cooperation
A key feature of the project is the integration of public administration, academia and industry. Companies such as Kongsberg, APS and Eycore have already confirmed their involvement.
- This demonstrates that we are combining the potential of the state, science and business in a real, not merely declarative, way, Maciej Samsonowicz noted.
Education and workforce development
During the event, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Ministry of National Defence and the Polish Naval Academy, represented by Rear Admiral Prof. Tomasz Szubrycht.
The agreement focuses on joint activities in education and research, aimed at preparing a qualified workforce for both ongoing and planned investments.
- This is an important step towards building the human capital required for projects already underway and those that will soon be launched.
Relevance for the maritime sector
From a maritime industry perspective, the Kaszubia project may contribute to strengthening capabilities in critical infrastructure protection, surveillance systems and dual-use technologies. Its location in Pomerania - a key maritime and offshore region - further enhances its importance for Baltic Sea security.
More broadly, the initiative reflects ongoing efforts to reinforce supply chain resilience and technological sovereignty at both national and European levels.
