PGE Baltica selects contractor for Baltica 9+ onshore connection

PGE Baltica has chosen the contractor that will prepare the design documentation for the onshore connection infrastructure of the Baltica 9+ offshore wind farm. The work will be delivered by a consortium led by PROJMORS ASE Group, together with ABL Group Poland (OWC) and Energoprojekt-Katowice. Power from the roughly 1.3 GW wind farm will be brought ashore at the Krzemienica substation in Słupsk County, northern Poland. The agreement was signed on 9 June 2026.

Backing the domestic supply chain

PGE Baltica frames the award as part of its strategy of building a strong local content base for offshore wind in Poland. Some of the consortium partners are Polish companies the developer has already worked with on earlier projects.

- We are consistently pursuing our mission of building strong local content in offshore wind projects in Poland. At PGE Baltica, we want Polish companies to take part as broadly as possible in building this sector, to develop their competencies and strengthen the domestic supply chain. We particularly value the fact that some of the partners are Polish companies with which we have already cooperated effectively on other projects. Ahead of us is an intensification of procurement for this project, and we hope that the participation of Polish companies will be equally strong in the tenders to come, said Bartosz Fedurek, President of the Management Board of PGE Baltica.

Scope of the contract

The contract covers the full cycle of preparatory work. The consortium will develop a comprehensive technical concept for the connection infrastructure, select the technology, define key parameters and prepare the design, logistics and execution assumptions, together with the project schedule and budget. The resulting documentation will form the basis for the next stages of delivery and for upcoming procurement processes.

A significant part of the assignment involves investigating ground conditions. This includes preparing and obtaining approval for the geological works programme, carrying out geotechnical and geological surveys both in the field and in the laboratory and producing the ground investigation report and the geological-engineering documentation.

The final stage of the work will be the preparation of the construction designs and securing the building permits for the power export infrastructure.

An experienced consortium

The consortium is led by PROJMORS ASE Group. Its partners are companies with a track record in designing and delivering infrastructure and energy investments, including projects linked to offshore wind. Their involvement underlines the growing role of Poland's domestic engineering base in the development of the offshore sector.

- Taking part in the tender organised by PGE Baltica was a major challenge for us. The experience gained over many years in other sectors is now paying off in the development of offshore wind in Poland, said Mateusz Samulak, President of the Management Board of PROJMORS ASE Group.

Baltica 9+: 1.3 GW on the Słupsk Bank

Baltica 9+ is a project created by combining the Baltica 9 site with the area of the acquired FEW Baltic II project. Once merged, the two locations will form an offshore wind farm with a total capacity of around 1.3 GW. The project is located in the western part of the Słupsk Bank, across an area of about 162 km², some 48 km from shore. Power from the farm will be exported to the grid connection point at the Krzemienica substation in the municipality of Redzikowo, Słupsk County, Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Part of a larger portfolio

With delivery planned by 2032, Baltica 9+ is one of the key undertakings in PGE Group's offshore portfolio. Together with the company's other offshore wind farms, it is expected to contribute to reaching around 3.8 GW of total installed offshore capacity by 2035, reinforcing PGE's position as a leader of offshore wind development in Poland.
