The agreement focuses on joint training programmes, educational initiatives, and knowledge exchange between the energy sector and the military. A key objective is to prepare both ORLEN employees and WOT personnel for coordinated operations in real-world scenarios, including the protection of strategic industrial assets.
- Security of Poland and stable energy supplies are inextricably linked. We take responsibility not only for business development but also for strengthening the country’s resilience. Our employees play a crucial role in this – their expertise, commitment and readiness to act. Cooperation with the Territorial Defence Forces will allow us to develop their competencies and translate them into tangible outcomes, effectively enhancing the security of our infrastructure, said Ireneusz Fąfara, President of the Management Board of ORLEN.
From the military perspective, access to operational industrial environments is seen as a key advantage. “Protection of critical infrastructure is one of the fundamental pillars of the national security system. Cooperation with ORLEN enables the Territorial Defence Forces to enhance operational capabilities in real infrastructure settings and to build an effective model of cooperation with a strategic partner from the energy sector,” noted Major General Krzysztof Stańczyk, Commander of the Territorial Defence Forces.
In practical terms, the partnership will include joint exercises and training sessions, including basic military preparedness programmes for ORLEN staff. Selected ORLEN facilities will be made available for workshops, allowing training to take place in conditions closely resembling real operational environments.
The agreement also предусматривает mutual competency support and knowledge sharing. ORLEN will facilitate WOT’s information and recruitment activities among its workforce, supporting the development of the force and encouraging broader civic engagement.
This partnership represents a systemic approach to strengthening national resilience by integrating the capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces with the resources, infrastructure and expertise of a key energy sector player. It is expected to enhance both the protection of critical assets and the capacity to respond effectively to crisis situations.
The cooperation will also extend to educational initiatives and community-focused activities, contributing to increased public awareness and promoting a comprehensive, multi-stakeholder approach to national security.
