The radios were officially received by the Brigade Commander, Colonel Piotr Jary, from Bartłomiej Zając, CEO of Radmor. The introduction of the devices into service is expected to significantly enhance the capabilities of light infantry sections, particularly in the areas of communications, data exchange, and field coordination.
The new radios enable secure, encrypted communication and support situational awareness through integrated navigation solutions. They are also adapted for transmitting position data via Blue Force Tracking (BFT), allowing real-time monitoring and visualization of friendly forces within command and control systems.
The 3501/8 radio belongs to the software-defined radio (SDR) category, enabling flexible implementation of multiple operating modes on a unified hardware platform. The device uses AES-256 encryption and a frequency-hopping mechanism operating at 25 hops per second, increasing resistance to jamming and interception.
As noted by the manufacturer, the solution was developed in Poland by Radmor, while its hardware and software architecture remains the intellectual property of GRUPA WB. This ensures full control over system development, security, and future upgrades.
The 3501 radio is a standard squad-level communication system in the Polish Armed Forces. According to the manufacturer, more than 20,000 units have already been delivered to the Polish Armed Forces and international users. The system remains in active service and can be deployed both as a handheld device and as part of vehicle-mounted configurations.
A key feature of the new delivery is its compatibility with Team Awareness Kit (TAK) systems, which enhances situational awareness and interoperability with other command-and-control platforms. The system architecture allows for further functionality expansion without hardware modifications.
The integration of modern communications equipment into the 7th Pomeranian Territorial Defence Brigade forms part of a broader modernization effort within the Territorial Defence Forces, aimed at increasing operational capability and effectiveness across diverse field conditions.
