Gdynia at the center of the debate on unmanned systems. Experts on technology, security and innovation

One of Poland’s key events dedicated to unmanned technologies - the AMW UAV Forum, organized by Gazeta Morska and Daily Mare - will take place at the Polish Naval Academy. The forum will bring together representatives of the armed forces, public administration, academia and industry, creating a unique platform for dialogue on the future of security and advanced technologies.

The event is organized by KPH Group - publisher of Gazeta Morska and Daily Mare - in cooperation with the Polish Naval Academy, its Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Baltic Maritime and Space Cluster. The forum responds to the rapidly evolving unmanned systems landscape, which is increasingly shaping both military operations and civilian applications.

- The drone revolution goes far beyond technology and the military domain, becoming a significant driver of social transformation. It strengthens the state’s capabilities in security and crisis response, while also reshaping the labor market by requiring new technological and analytical skills and redefining entire professions. Moreover, it contributes to the ‘socialization’ of warfare by changing the way conflicts are experienced, says Paweł Kusiak, Head of the Simulation and Gaming Lab at the Polish Naval Academy and co-organizer of the forum.

The program includes four expert panels addressing key issues related to the development and deployment of UAV, UGV and USV systems. Discussions will cover lessons learned from contemporary armed conflicts, multi-domain integration, counter-drone technologies, as well as the social and regulatory dimensions of the so-called “drone revolution.”

A key focus of the forum will be interoperability and the integration of platforms across land, maritime, air and space domains. Experts will also examine the growing role of artificial intelligence, system autonomy, and emerging threats – including swarm attacks and the need to protect critical infrastructure.

As emphasized by Oskar Wojciechowski, Director of Advertising and Member of the Management Board at KPH Group, the forum also carries strategic importance for the broader technology ecosystem:

- Unmanned systems are becoming one of the key pillars of digital transformation in both the public sector and the economy. This is no longer just about hardware, but about data architectures, system integration, cybersecurity and real-time information processing capabilities. AMW UAV Forum creates a space where these elements converge – where the military meets industry, and technology aligns with real operational needs. Our goal is not only to discuss trends, but to actively foster cooperation and initiate projects that will strengthen Poland’s security and competitiveness in the years ahead.

The AMW UAV Forum is not only a review of current trends, but also an attempt to define the future direction of Poland’s unmanned technology ecosystem. The event aims to facilitate cooperation between public and private sectors and to support the development of projects of strategic importance for security and the economy.

The event will conclude with the presentation of the ARMA Forum concept – an initiative designed to establish a permanent platform for cooperation between military, industrial, academic and public administration stakeholders. The project aims to integrate Poland’s unmanned systems ecosystem and support the development of innovative solutions for defense and the maritime sector.

For one day, Gdynia will become a hub for discussions on the future of unmanned systems – technologies that are already redefining the modern battlefield and increasingly influencing the functioning of states and economies.

Honorary patronage of the AMW UAV Forum has been granted by: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Stefan Krajewski, Minister of State Assets Wojciech Bałczun, Pomeranian Voivode Beata Rutkiewicz, Head of the National Security Bureau, Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz, Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Mieczysław Struk, and Mayor of Gdynia Aleksandra Kosiorek.
