The competition is designed not only to promote technical knowledge, but above all to foster key future-oriented competencies such as creative problem-solving, teamwork and project-based thinking. Participants will tackle a real-world challenge under the theme "Energy of Positive Change", encouraging them to develop innovative solutions that improve the quality of life in local communities.
Teams of two to three students, working under the supervision of a teacher, are tasked with identifying a specific problem within their school, town or region and proposing a solution based on STEM principles. Projects may address areas such as energy efficiency, technology-driven education, or building stronger connections between schools, universities and industry.
As part of the application process, teams must prepare a short video (up to three minutes) presenting the problem, their proposed solution and their motivation. The submission deadline is May 8, 2026, with the competition final scheduled for June 11 in Gdańsk.
Participants will benefit from workshops and online mentoring led by experts, as well as the opportunity to present their ideas to a wider audience. The top teams will receive awards, including a study visit to the renowned Deutsches Museum in Munich.
"Fahrenheit. Future competencies" stands as an example of an initiative that bridges education with real-world challenges. For young people in Pomerania, it offers a unique opportunity to start shaping solutions that may matter tomorrow.
