Offshore services provider Bourbon has secured a long-term offshore services agreement with Prime Energy Resources Development B.V. to support offshore operations in the Philippines. The contract includes a firm three-year period with an optional two-year extension.

The deal represents Bourbon’s first collaboration with Prime Energy and establishes a new operational base for the French offshore group in the region.

Bourbon Liberty 237 to enter service in August 2026

The contract, developed in partnership with Bahtera Sri Kandi Pte Ltd (BSKPL), is scheduled to commence in August 2026. Bourbon will deploy and manage the AHTS vessel Bourbon Liberty 237 for the project.

As part of the agreement, the vessel is undergoing a dedicated conversion programme enabling it to transport and supply methanol for offshore operations.

Vessel conversion focused on methanol operations

The upgrade scope includes tank conversion, installation of dedicated pumping systems, a Nitrogen Inert Gas System, adapted pipelines and protective coatings. The modifications are being carried out in compliance with maritime authority requirements and under approval from classification society ABS.

The conversion reflects the increasing role of alternative fuels and specialised chemical logistics in offshore support operations.

Supporting Prime Energy’s shallow water platform

Under the contract, Bourbon Liberty 237 will support Prime Energy’s Shallow Water Platform (SWP), carrying out condensate tanker lifting, static towing, AHTS operations and methanol supply services.

According to Bourbon, the proposed solution combines operational readiness with competitive and sustainable offshore support capabilities, strengthening the company’s position in the Philippine oil and gas market.

- This new contract illustrates Prime Energy’s confidence in Bourbon’s ability to deliver safe, reliable and cost-effective maritime services, in full compliance with stringent regulatory and operational requirements, said Karim Mebarek, Chief Commercial Officer of Bourbon.
